Wii MotionPlus – Sick New Wii Accessory For Spring 2009

July 31st, 2008  Posted in Gaming   4 Comments

Another really slick upcoming advancement in Wii fun. Check out the Wii MotionPlus. It’s a mini little attachment that plugs into the bottom of your Wiimote and is supposed to read the movements of your controller much better than before.

Notice how simple the add-on is; small and light. Now check out this video of it’s capabilities, a demonstration from AiLive, the company that worked on its production. It totally reads the movements of the controller verbatim. At 1:50 you’ll see some awesome lightsaber capabilities!

Even better is that this addition is supposed to come with Wii Sports Resort, the sequel to Wii Sports. Resort is supposed to take place on a beach of some sort, and the games are set to work with the MotionPlus add-on for super realistic games. Wikipedia says:

Games announced to be included (so far) are: Frisbee (Disc Dog), Jet Skiing (Power Cruising) and Fencing (Sword Play).[2] However, it had been indicated that there would be at least 10 games included in the final product.

Looking forward to Spring 2009…
