Jazakallahu khayr for the informational post. I haven’t given this topic much thought, but I am a little averse to the idea of being married and not living together. I was talking to a brother from Houston the other day and he was talking about how a lot of Muslim guys in Houston are getting married this way, and when they come across things which they don’t like about their spouse, or when they have issues, they get divorced! Some people just use this as a means of halal dating and not realize the resounding implications that come with being nikka’d. I know you talked about having the right intention, but this is probably something that has to be DOWN SOLID before someone even thinks about getting married this way. It may be a really good way for some couples to get to know each other, etc, before the actual living together, but I personally wouldn’t want to get married unless I am completely able to support my wife and am ready to live together.

ASA,
I had never heard of nikah kitaba before. Thanks for educating me about this excellent, practical option for couples.
Please stop by my blog:

Good advice, mA.

Some advice I can add: when the going gets tough, the tough go to Allah. If you're experiencing any problems in life, especially with marriage (not necessarily fighting, but also just long distance difficulties, difficult financial situations) turn to Allah. The closer you get to Allah, the more He'll help you through even the toughest of problems.
