Seeing Double

Neat, huh? This picture was taken four years ago, in the spring of 2004. Can you guess how this was done?

Sure, I used Photoshop, but you can’t just “Photoshop them in” without making it look right. List all the requirements and procedures you can. Realism is not mandatory, creativity is. :)

  3. In the olden times (1850′ish), when taking a picture with a camera, you would have to sit still for upwards of 30 minutes for the film to process enough light to have a sustainable image.

Using cameras like this one (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Studijskifotoaparat.JPG), you had the ability to be in more than one place in a photograph, just by standing a few minutes in one area, then moving and standing somewhere else for another few minutes. We tried this in junior high, with ridiculously cool results.

    So that is my theory.

  4. There’s only one answer. Everyone in this photo is a SuperWali. After they each gave khutbahs in two different places at one time, they proceeded to demonstrate their wali-ness by showing up in this photo in two different places at once.

The other day, I saw a cartoon in paper with one guy carrying Sears Tower, I wonder how he did that, but I can see SearsTower from my office window, maybe dream again..

  9. Different people that look similar with the same clothes standing in different positions.

Either that or you made models of the same person out of huggoo and put one sitting and the other standing.

  12. Too bad that blog entry Atif put was posted Oct. 2007. Saqib said he took it four years ago.

I’m guessing a time machine came into play here. It’s similar to when Biff met himself in Back to the Future.

  16. All I remember was the fact we had nothing to secure the camera to the tripod, so this took unnecessarily longer.

    Also, Saad’s pictures are awesome.

  20. Yeah i think it was like the unseen thing. otake two shots in different placed and them put them together. My Dad did this back in the late 80’s with an ordinary camera. he took two pics and Konica did the rest. Theres a picture of Saudu Bhaiya in junaid bhaiyas drive just like this way one. I think my dad took two mirror image pictures and deletes one of the pictures from each pair.

  24. I dunno, but it looks like some shadows are missing. Did you put the camera on a tripod, take pictures, and rearrange some of the layering?

  25. Actually, with close inspection, every shadow and limb is in place.

I think as your wife, and the person you are closest to, you should tell me how you did this. I expect a full explanation later today :)
